| From a debt ridden and almost bankrupt company, the Indian Railway was transformed to one of India’s most profitable enterprises. Join us as Mr Lalu shares his experiences and the challenges faced as the man who single-handedly transformed the Indian Railway System into one of the highest profit making industries in the country.
As Minister of Railways, Mr Lalu revamped the ailing system with controversial management ideas and methods. Without touching passenger fares, he found many other profitable revenues for the Railway and within his first year, he defied all predictions and stated a profit.
The Indian Railways is now one of the world’s largest commercial and utility employers, handling 16 million passengers and 1 million tons of freight daily.
