Overview

The Competition, founded in the year 2000, is a central element in INSEAD’s entrepreneurship vision.

Our MBA and EMBA students work on venture projects during their INSEAD program, ideally leveraging the different courses and entrepreneurship electives. The competition represents a natural and exciting step in the venture’s development, allowing the teams to pitch their venture concept and planning.

Finalist teams will present their new ventures to a panel of five distinguished judges on Friday, 25 June 2010 at INSEAD’s Europe Campus in Fontainebleau.

The total prize purse is €20,000 divided as follows:

1st Prize: €10,000

2nd Prize: €3,000

3rd Prize:  €2,000

Social Entrepreneurship Award: €5,000

The awards are valuable to help start the new venture. The winners of the competition also gain credibility and media exposure, as well as excitement and momentum to take their ventures forward.

The competition is organized by the Rudolf and Valeria Maag International Centre for Entrepreneurship. We would like to thank alumnus Rudolf Maag for his generous support for entrepreneurship activities at INSEAD. We also thank alumnus Peer Kolendorf for his support of the INSEAD Business Venture Competition.

All members of the INSEAD community (students, faculty and staff, alumni entrepreneurs and angel investors) are invited to attend the final on June 25 morning in Amphi A, Fontainebleau Campus. Mr Eldar Tuvey, one of INSEAD's leading entrepreneurs, will be our keynote speaker on the final day of the 20th Business Venture Competition.
